India Bourne
India’s background in classical music is instantly evident in her sound. ‘These Days Of Ours’, her self-released debut EP, features layers of cello, piano and vocals with soaring melodies and adventurous harmonies that echo musical mavericks like Joni Mitchell and Eva Cassidy. Having spent the last three years on the road playing and singing in Ben Howard’s band, she is excited to focus on her solo work whilst the band has a breather from touring to write a second album.
India said of Indie Kitchen,”The team at Indie Kitchen are creating something truly beautiful and unique with their combination of showcasing up-and-coming artists and mouthwateringly good cakes. They are committed to producing top quality audio and visuals for their sessions as well as a homely and warm performance environment. I loved every minute.” We loved having her with us!
For her Indie Kitchen session, India performed ‘These Days of Ours’ solo on piano, an old song with strong attachments to life growing up in the Devon countryside close to the sea, so this seemed like a perfect song to link to Surfer’s Against Sewage’s #SIGNFORIT campaign.
